Spurred by client requests, The History Factory has launched The Idea Engine, a Washington D.C.-based “think tank” aimed at creating compelling heritage-based stories, strategies and innovative delivery methods in support of corporate communications goals.
The cornerstone of The Idea Engine is the discovery that time-tested storytelling algorithms—found in ancient mythology and modern Hollywood blockbusters alike—also apply to organizational narratives.
Cognitive psych research shows that people are 22 times more likely to remember and internalize a “story” as opposed to a series of facts or bullet-points (Jerome Brunner, Actual Minds, Possible Worlds, Harvard University Press). And the secret to compelling storytelling is being able to look at a mass of raw material and cull the very best elements and put them in the very best order in the service of the very best theme.
In other words: the secret is story structure. Structure is what ensures deep connection with an audience. That’s where we come in…
Built around Founder/CEO Bruce Weindruch—and Senior Idea Engineers Christian D’Andrea and Adam Nemett—The Idea Engine brings a fresh influx of storytelling, filmmaking and entrepreneurial experience to clients eager to capitalize on their inventory of experience.
