Museums & Exhibits
In 1979, The History Factory was founded as Informative Design Group. Its cofounders, a corporate historian and exhibit designer, had a vision to deliver more substantive, well-designed communications products. That founding vision has been fully realized through the museums and exhibits that we’ve created for more than 30 years.
Whether it’s a renovation or move to a new headquarters, an annual meeting or event or opportunity to go on a tour, we’ve done it. Permanent or temporary, large-scale corporate museum spaces or traveling exhibits, The History Factory delivers all phases of exhibit development. We provide museum consulting, master planning, research and curation, design, production, fabrication, interactive programming and development and installation. Rich resources support the large museum industry near our Washington, D.C. location, so we have decades of experience with great partners and a vast pool of talent to draw from.
Our methodology is logical, structured and collaborative. We begin by understanding our clients’ objectives, needs and functional space requirements. We help develop the story that needs to be told and the best design concept to tell it. Our talented team of exhibit designers, museum consultants, production specialists, researchers, curators, writers, editors and project managers leads our clients through a process that consistently delivers success.
