In preparation for its 50th anniversary in 2018, ISACA contracted with History Factory to help plan and execute its anniversary campaign. The professional association for IT governance and auditors wanted to craft and share a story that would help engage current members and attract new ones. Since its inception, ISACA had grown to include more than 135,000 members with 220 chapters in 188 countries. ISACA wanted its anniversary celebration to involve all members and staff, regardless of their location.
History Factory formulated a robust anniversary plan that included a graphic identity, brand guidelines and social media graphics. Then we conducted research and gathered oral histories that served as the foundation for a bank of written and audiovisual content. We also developed a microsite to distribute anniversary content and serve as a hub for members to share their own stories about ISACA. For the anniversary kickoff, History Factory produced keynote videos weaving forward-looking messaging together with footage from interviews with the organization’s founders. The videos and remarks were used at other events worldwide as well.
ISACA’s 50th anniversary exceeded all of its QPIs and was awarded the Gold Circle Award by the American Society of Association Executives. The organization doubled its content and social media engagement goals and had three times the amount of expected web visits. The anniversary toolkit provided content for events on six continents, and attendance at the annual CACS conference increased by 10%. Most importantly, 94% of ISACA staff surveyed said the anniversary program increased their pride in being a part of ISACA..
